EUROSAI Working Group on Municipality Audit (WGMA) has successfully concluded its 7th Master Class on 17 December, focusing on the topic “Visualisation of Results.” The online event brought together around 240 participants from WGMA member SAIs to explore various approaches for presenting audit findings in a clear, accessible and impactful way.
The Master Class was moderated by Ms. Svetoslava Enimaneva, Chief Auditor at SAI Bulgaria. The session featured practical examples from SAIs of Lithuania, Israel and Slovakia, showcasing how visualisation techniques can enhance audit reporting and dissemination. The information and discussion demonstrate the growing importance of using visual tools, such as infographics, video clips, and digital solutions, in strengthening communication and engagement.
Ms. Aurelija BrukstutÄ—, Area Manager of the Planning and Impact Department at SAI Lithuania, demonstrated visual solutions used in the audit on the digital transformation of education. Her presentation highlighted how infographics, illustrations and interactive data maps can make municipality-related audit results more understandable and impactful.
Ms. Eilat Reichmann-Amit, Advisor, Deputy Manager of Audit Dept, Local Government Audit Division at SAI Israel, shared how infographics, video and AI were applied in reporting and disseminating of an audit concerning spousal violence. The example illustrated how visual tools can clarify complex findings and follow-up results in a structured and accessible manner.
Mr. Ondrej Hronec, Specialist in Social Media and Digital Marketing, Department of Internal and External Communication at SAI Slovakia, presented examples of infographics used in audit reports for public communication. His insights demonstrated how different types of visuals can effectively convey audit messages to the public and media.
The Master Class underscored that effective visualisation is not merely a design choice – it is a strategic tool for transparency, stakeholder engagement and impact. By adopting these practices, SAIs can ensure their findings resonate with decision-makers and the public.
